  12. An ECN was released today to correct a problem with the Microsoft PS/2 /serial 
  13. mouse operation in PS/2 mode. This mouse will work correctly in serial mode, 
  14. i.e., connected to serial ports on the motherboard.  The ECN number is 
  15. EC120293.087.  The solve the problem, two resistors, R53 and R69, should not 
  16. be mounted.

  18. For boards that are already out in the field, there is an alternate solution 
  19. to this problem:

  21. This problem can also be corrected by cutting pins 2 and 4 of the mouse 
  22. connector (J11).  Since these two pins are no-connect on the PS/2 mouse port, 
  23. they can be cut off so that when the PS/2 mouse cable is inserted into this 
  24. header, these two pins do not make contact.
