- An ECN was released today to correct a problem with the Microsoft PS/2 /serial
- mouse operation in PS/2 mode. This mouse will work correctly in serial mode,
- i.e., connected to serial ports on the motherboard. The ECN number is
- EC120293.087. The solve the problem, two resistors, R53 and R69, should not
- be mounted.

- For boards that are already out in the field, there is an alternate solution
- to this problem:

- This problem can also be corrected by cutting pins 2 and 4 of the mouse
- connector (J11). Since these two pins are no-connect on the PS/2 mouse port,
- they can be cut off so that when the PS/2 mouse cable is inserted into this
- header, these two pins do not make contact.
